ORONO, ME – The University of Maine baseball team walked it off in the bottom of the ninth inning to win Sunday's series finale over NJIT, 7-6.

First Inning: Albert Choi got NJIT going on offense as he hit a solo home run in the top of the frame, giving his side an early 1-0 lead.

Third Inning: Paul Franzoni made it 3-0 NJIT as he hit a 2-run home run to left field, bringing home Albert Choi.

Fourth Inning:
Joe Bramanti got the Black Bears on the board as he hit a no-doubt home run to left field, making it a 3-1 game.

Scout Knotts would then make it back-to-back home runs for the Black Bears as he also hit a no-doubt, solo home run to left field, making it a 3-2 game.

Fifth Inning: Luke Longo brought home a pair of runs with a single to right field, bringing home Paul Franzoni and Albert Choi.

Brett Erwin's day came to an end after the 4
th inning, allowing 7 runs (5 earned) and striking out 4.

Nick Hussey capped off the 3-run innings for NJIT as he hit a sac-fly to right field, bringing home Andrew Elcock.

Joe Georgini's day came to an end after 4 innings of work as he allowed 2 runs on 5 hits, striking out 3.

Sixth Inning:
Jake Marquez got the Black Bears their 3
rd run of the contest as he hit an RBI single to left field, driving in
Ryan Turenne.

Seventh Inning: The Black Bears drew to within two as
Scout Knotts hit an RBI single to left field, bringing home
Jeremiah Jenkins.
Ryan Turenne then followed up with an RBI double to right field, bringing home
Joe Bramanti, making it a one run game.

Ninth Inning:
Quinn McDaniel walked it off for the Black Bears as he hit a 2-run double to left field to win it.
Mike Pratte and
Myles Sargent scored on the game-winning hit.

Jordan Schulefand (3-1) earned the win for the Black Bears, pitching 1/3 of an inning, allowing no runs and no hits.

Jake Rappaport (0-3) takes the loss for NJIT, allowing 2 runs in 1 and 2/3 innings of work.

Maine, who moves to 9-3 in America East play, hosts Thomas College on Wednesday, April 13 before heading to Albany for a weekend series against the Great Danes.
