A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
Maine will be looking to bounce back following a tough loss after holding a 16-point lead against UAlbany, 72-68.
Peter Filipovity has been the story of the past two games, as he has broke his career-high in scoring in back-to-back contests after dropping 10 in the win over NJIT and then 11 against UAlbany in the losing effort. He also added 11 rebounds and 4 steals over the course of the two contests.
Stephane Ingo has been a defensive anchor for the Black Bears since his return from inury, as his rebounds per game (6.3) ranks 3rd in America East and his blocks per game (2.6) ranks second in America East.
A LOOK AT UMBC:
The Golden Retrievers are coming off of a 92-85 victory over the Hartford Hawks on Wednesday, Feb. 23.
Darnell Rogers (26 pts) and Keondre Kennedy (24 pts) led the way for UMBC with their big offensive nights.
Rogers and Kennedy have been getting it done for the Golden Retrievers all season, as they are currently ranked 1st and 2nd of the squad in scoring. Kennedy is averaging 15.1 per contest and Rogers is averaging 11.4 per  contest. L.J. Owens rounds out the top-3 in terms of scoring for UMBC as he is averaging 10.9 per contest.
HISTORY AGAINST UMBC:
This matchup marks the 35th matchup all-time and second of the 2021-22 season. UMBC holds an edge in the all-time matchup, 22-12, and they took the first matchup this season, 88-46, back on Jan. 22. Nathan Johnson (17 pts, 5 reb) Keondra Kennedy (15 pts, 7 reb, 4 a) and Yaw Obeng-Mensah (12 pts, 7 reb) led the way for the Golden Retrievers in the winning effort. Fofo Adetogun (10 pts) was the lone scorer in double-digits for the Black Bears in the rough outing for the squad.
