AMHERST, Mass. -- The University of Maine men's ice hockey team was defeated by the #9 University of Massachusetts Minutemen, 4-2, on Saturday evening in the Mullins Center.

First Goal (1-0 #9 UMass): Left in front of the Maine net, Garrett Wait scored the first goal of the series finale. Josh Lopina found his line mate patiently waiting for the puck. 4:16 into the Saturday night match-up, Maine trailed 1-0.

Second Goal (2-0 #9 UMass): Instead of assisting on the goal, Lopina scored one of his own. The Anaheim Ducks draft pick found the back of the net while on their first power play opportunity of the evening. 9:12 into the contest, the Black Bears trailed by two goals.

Third Goal (3-0 #9 UMass): Eric Faith scored the third goal of the first period 1:30 after the Lopina goal. Ryan Ufko assisted on the play.

Fourth Goal (3-1 #9 UMass): On the Black Bears first power play opportunity of the evening,
Donavan Villeneuve-Houle scored a goal for the Bears. The hero from last night scored after corralling a
David Breazeale rebound.
Jakub Sirota cycled the puck to Breazeale, who gave Houle the opportunity to find the back of the net. With just under six minutes left in the opening frame, Maine only trailed by two goals.

Fifth Goal (3-2 #9 UMass): Adrien Bisson pulled the Black Bears to within one goal with his power play goal.
Samuel Duerr's shot was saved by Matt Murray. The puck bounced to Bisson, who did not miss his chance. At the end of one, the Black Bears trailed by one goal.

Sixth Goal (4-2 #9 UMass): Garrett Wait scored his second goal of the evening halfway through the third period. The forward had his original shot saved by
Victor Ostman. The rebound was enough to give Wait another chance. It was the final goal of the evening as Maine fell, 4-2.

Notes: Victor Ostman stopped 34 shots for the Black Bears, while Matt Murray tallied 22 saves for UMass.

Maine went 2 for 3 on its power play opportunity, as the Minutemen were 1-4 on its player advantages.
