Orono, ME - Head Coach Nick Derba officially announced the 2023 Maine baseball schedule on Friday morning. The 51-game schedule is set to begin on Friday, February 17th against Pittsburgh.

The Black Bears will begin the 2023 campaign with their yearly visit to Florida, where they will face-off against Pittsburgh in a four-game series on February 17-19.

Maine follows up their opening weekend contest by competing in the Penn State Tourney held in Cary, North Carolina from February 24-26. Maine is scheduled to compete in four games in the tournament, with Penn State, Monmouth and one team TBD.

The Black Bears begin a trip up the east coast over the following two and a half weeks as they make stops at Winthrop for three games, Maryland for three games, George Mason for one game and George Washington for one game.

Maine begins their 2023 America East season against UMBC on March 17-19. The Black Bears were the regular season championships for the 2022 America East season before falling in two games in the America East playoffs.

After a three-game series at Saint Joseph's on March 24-26, Maine enters a nine-game conference only stretch that they begin with the home opening series against UMass Lowell on March 31-April 2. The Black Bears stay at home to face UAlbany the following weekend on April 7-9 before heading to Binghamton on April 14-16 for three games.

The Black Bears return to Mahaney Diamond for a four-game non-conference series against Hartford on April 21-23. The Black Bears will take on Merrimack College on Tuesday, April 25 to wrap up the quick homestand.

With a stop at Merrimack on March 26 for a quick one-game matchup, the Black Bears will return to Orono to take on UMBC on April 28-30.

Maine embarks on a eight-game road trip where they take on UMass Lowell in a three-game series on May 5-7, Merrimack for one game on May 10, NJIT for three games on May 12-14 and concluding the road trip on May 16 with a single game at Boston College.

The Black Bears will wrap up the regular season against Bryant at home on May 18-20.

The America East Tournament is set to run from May 22-27.
