Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine men's ice hockey team defeated the Canisius College Golden Griffins, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon at the Alfond Arena.

First Goal (1-0 Maine): Cole Hanson scored the lone goal of the first and second period. The transfer fired a shot from between the face-off dots.
Thomas Freel fed his linemate the puck. Hanson's shot deflected off the goaltender's stick and into the back of Canisius' net. The Black Bears held a 1-0 lead at the end of 40:00.

Second Goal (2-0 Maine): Scoring the Black Bears' second power play goal of the contest,
Jakub Sirota scored his second goal in as many games.
Nolan Renwick won the face-off to a waiting Sirota. The captain did not waste any time and doubled Maine's lead.

Third Goal (3-0 Maine): Lynden Breen added an empty net goal with 00:29 left in regulation. It was the final goal of the night as Maine won their fourth in row.

Notes: Victor Ostman saved 22 shots in net for the Black Bears, while Jacob Barczewski stopped 23 shots between the pipes for Canisius.

Maine went 2 for 3 on the power play, as the Golden Griffins were 0-5 on its player advantages.
