PREVIEW: Maine Set to Compete at New England Championships

Orono, Maine - The University of Maine men's and women's cross country teams will be heading back to Franklin Park in Boston M.A this time to compete in the New England Championships on Saturday, Oct. 8.
For the women, they are led by Lydia Gilmore placing 94 with a time of 19:08 in the 5K race at the Coast-to-Coast Battle of Beantown Meet. Rachel Hodge was the next highest ranking female for the Black Bears placing 133 with a time of 19:44.
The men are being led by two Black Bears placing in the top 25; Alec Troxell and Evan Thornton-Sherman. Troxell placed 19 with a time of 24:34 in the 8K race, also earning him the America East Male Performer of the Week Award. Thornton-Sherman placed 21 with a time of 24:38.
The women are set to begin at 12:45 P.M. and the men will follow at 1:30 P.M.
