Men's Cross Country

Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Compete at the America East Championship

Kingsville, Maryland - The University of Maine men's and women's cross country teams concluded their 2022 season at the America East Championships on Saturday, Oct. 29.

For the Maine men they were led by a 3rd place finish in the 8K race by Alec Troxell who finished with a time of 24:06.9. Evan Thornton-Sherman also had a strong finish with a time of 24:47.7 placing him 13th. 

On the Black Bears women's side, they were led by Lydia Gilmore who placed 27th in the 5K race with a time of 18:34.7. Marlee Yoder (18:47.8) and Rachel Hodge (18:48.2) were the next highest finishers for Maine finishing in 31 and 32 less than a second apart.

The men's team combined for a total score of 121 placing them 5th overall. The women placed 7th with a combined total of 174.

John Riley for the men and Kenzie Doyle on the women's side, both from UMass Lowell, were the 2022 America East Champions. UMass Lowell also finished with the best scores on both the men's and women's teams.
