Orono, Maine - The University of Maine women's ice hockey team fell to #3 Northeastern 6-1 in Friday night matchup.
First Goal (1-0 Northeastern): Northeastern would strike first, netting a goal in the first period from Megan Carter. Alyssa Antoonakis and Abbey Marohn would each pick up an assist.
Second Goal (2-0 Northeastern): The second goal would be scored by the Huskies at 10:24 in the second period by Chloe Aurard and assisted by Alina Mueller and Maureen Murphy.
Third Goal (2-1 Maine): Maine would get their scoring going in the second period. After stealing the puck away from Northeastern, the puck would find itself to Emma Lange who would quickly pass to Alyssa Wruble who then guided the puck to Morgan Trimper to get the score.
Fourth Goal (3-1 Northeastern): The Huskies third goal would come with just one minute to go in the second period from Alina Mueller. Maureen Murphy would get the assist.
Fifth Goal (4-1 Northeastern): Katy Knoll would score this goal early in the third period for Northeastern. Peyton Anderson and Maude Poulin-Labelleeach would get an assist.
Sixth Goal (5-1 Northeastern): Northeastern's fifth goal would be a powerplay goal scored from Katy Knoll, her second of the game. Maureen Murphy and Megan Carter would each pick up an assist.
Seventh Goal (6-1 Northeastern): Lilly Shannon would score the final goal of the game assisted by Molly Griffin.
Brooklyn Oakes picked up 39 saves in net for the Black Bears.
For Northeastern, Gwyneth Phillips had 24 saves.
The Black Bears and Huskies will face off tomorrow afternoon in the Alfond at 2:00 P.M.
