The Series

Last season were the first two meetings between the Black Bears and LIU and Maine's record is 2-0. These games include 4-2 and 3-2 victories over the Sharks. 

Black Bears Notes and Notables

• Maine is coming off of a 2-0 weekend against the University of New Hampshire.

• Grace Heiting is coming off a weekend with two goals and one assist.  She earned one goal on Oct. 7 and the other goal and assist in the Oct. 8 contest.

• Lilli Welcke scored her first collegiate goal on Oct. 8. She also recorded an assist in the game.

• Jorden Mattison earned the 3-2 Oct. 7 victory and had 16 saves in the contest.

• Maine recorded their first shutout of the year in the 4-0 Oct. 8 victory over the Wildcats. Freshman Brooklyn Oakes earned the shutout in her first collegiate game and recorded 23 saves.

A Bit About LIU

• The Sharks are coming off their first win of the season 4-3 against Sacred Heart on Oct. 7 . 

• Carrigan Umpherville was one goal scorer in last week's victory as well as the team's third leader in points last season (26).

• Journey Miller was another returner who also scored in last week's matchup against Sacred Heart. She ended last season with four goals and six assists.
