BURLINGTON, VT - The University of Maine women's ice hockey dropped their first contest against the Catamount's of Vermont, 3-0.
FIRST GOAL (1-0 Vermont): Natalie Mlynkova got the scoring going middway through the second period as she scored her 6th of the season. Lily Holmes () and Sini Karjalainen () picked up the assists.
SECOND GOAL (2-0 Vermont): Just 2:10 after their first goal, the Catamounts scored again, this time it was Ellice Murphy. Her () of the season increased her squads lead. Theresa Schafzahl () picked up the assist.
THIRD GOAL (3-0 Vermont): Vermont would score at the 8:12 mark in the third period for the final goal of the contest. Hailey Burns netted her () of the season. Schafzahl () and Maddy Skelton () picked up the assists.
Sydney Correa picked up the 14 save shutout victory for her team.
Loryn Porter finished with 34 saves in the contest.
Maine (6-13-1, 4-8-1) returns to Alfond Arena on Friday, Jan. 7 and Saturday, Jan. 8 as they play host to Holy Cross.
