Cross Country Competes at the Battle of Beantown

FRANKLIN PARK, Mass. - The University of Maine men's and women's Cross Country teams competed at the Battle of Beantown on Friday afternoon.
For the Black Bear men, they came away with a team placement of 14th in the meet. Led by Junior Sam Mills, who led all Maine participants with a 34th place finish and a time of 25:03 in the meet. Alec Troxell also cracked the top 75 in the 20 team meet on the men's side, running a 25:38 for 67th place.
For the women, they were led by Lydia Gilmore in their 22nd placement at the meet. The sophomore paced all Black Bear females with a time of 19:26 in the 22 team meet.
For the Black Bears, their next meet will take place on Saturday, October 9th. as they return to Franklin Park for the New England Championships.
