DURHAM, New Hampshire - The University of Maine's men's and women's Cross Country teams competed at the University of New Hampshire in a conference meet against six other opponents on Saturday afternoon.
For the Men, they were led by another strong performance from their top trio of Sam Mills,
Luke Marsanskis and
Alec Troxell. Mills paced all Black Bears in the meet, taking home a second place with a time of 24:54.55 in the 8K race. Marsanskis took 5th in the meet with a time of 25:25.22. Troxell rounded out the strong showing from the trio, taking ninth with a time of 25:47.77.
For the women,
Lydia Gilmore took home an 11th at the meet, posting a time of 18:34.52 in the 5K race.
Marlee Yoder (19:44.01) and
Jaymie Sidaway (20:13.21) finished within the top 50 of the event to score for Maine.
The men ended the weekend with a 3rd place team finish, scoring a 61. The women ended the meet with a 6th place finish. Their score stood at 157.
For the Black Bears, both teams will be competing at the Battle of Beantown on Friday, Sept. 24, in Franklin Park, Mass.
