Orono, Maine -- University of Maine men's basketball rookie guard Novak Perovic has been named the America East Rookie of the Week, as announced by the league on Monday afternoon.

Perovic contributed key minutes in Maine's 86-50 victory over the University of New England on Saturday afternoon. The freshman tallied career-highs in three categories including points (10), rebounding (5), and steals (3) in the win.

The Black Bears return to action on Tuesday when they host Merrimack College at the Cross Insurance Center at 5 p.m.
