Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine men's basketball team returns home to host UMaine Fort Kent on Friday evening at 7 p.m. at The Pit inside Memorial Gymnasium. Tickets remain for Friday evening's contest and can be purchased
online or by calling 207.581.BEAR. All UMaine students in attendance will receive a FREE Dunkin' gift card, while supplies last.
Friday's game will be broadcast live on
ESPN+ and streamed to the international viewing audience at
AmericaEast.tv. The game can also be heard worldwide on the
Black Bear Sports Network and locally in Maine on
1370 AM.
A LOOK AT THE BLACK BEARS:
Freshman
Kristians Feierbergs leads the Black Bears in scoring, averaging 9.0 points per game while shooting 50.0 from the field.
Stephane Ingo is adding 8.5 points, 8.5 boards, and 2.0 blocks per game.
Vukasin Masic, coming off a season-high 11 point effort at Colorado, is averaging 8.0 points and 1.7 assists in three starts. Maine ranks third in the America East in total blocks, third in steals per game (8.3), and checks in fourth in the league at 14.7 turnovers per game. The Black Bears are averaging 54.7 points per game through their opening three contests.
A LOOK AT UMAINE FORT KENT:
The Bengals are 2-4 on the season prior to their Thursday evening match-up against Thomas College. Fort Kent is averaging 75.0 points per game while surrendering 81.7 in the early going. Aiden Grady leads the Bengals in scoring (19.2) and rebounding (8.5). Bryce Gilbert, the lone Mainer on the squad, is adding 10.0 points and a team-best 5.0 assists.
SERIES WITH UMAINE FORT KENT:
Maine and Fort Kent will meet for the fourth time in history with the Black Bears holding a 2-1 advantage in the all-time series. The Bengals won the latest meeting between the two programs, 80-75, back on Nov. 5, 2016.

**Per University of Maine system guidance, UMaine Athletics will require all guests attending home hockey and basketball events to provide full proof of a COVID-19 vaccination or proof of a negative COVID-19 PCR or antigen test, which must be administered within the previous 72 hours. Patrons must have a mask in place covering their nose and mouth prior to entry to the venues.
Face coverings remain required indoors for all persons - students, staff, faculty, and visitors, on campus at all UMaine Athletics sporting events, regardless of vaccination status. All guests over the age of two will be required to wear a face covering, except while eating or drinking.
The University of Maine reserves the right to request additional screening of patrons prior to entering the building. The additional screening would consist of a symptom check and temperature scan.
If guests are unable to provide valid proof of vaccination, a valid negative test, or fail the enhanced screening, guests will be turned away from the event.
Fans are encouraged to purchase tickets to UMaine Athletics events prior to arriving at the venue and also are encouraged to arrive early to the venue on gameday.
