DURHAM, NH - The University of Maine men's and women's cross country teams concluded their 2021 season as they competed at the America East Championships on Friday, Oct. 29.
For Maine, they were led by 3rd place finish from Junior
Luke Marsanskis. Marsanskis finished with a time of 24:05.4, which was less than 10 seconds of off the race winner.
Alec Troxell also had an impressive finish as he took 15th in the race. He finished with a time of 24:31.94.
Sam Mills finished in 33rd with a time of 25:28.63.
For the Black Bears on the women's side, they were led by Sophomore
Lydia Gilmore. For Gilmore, she concluded the 2021 season finishing at the top of her team in every meet. She took 25th in the Championship meet, coming in with a final time of 18:07.78.
The Maine men's team finished with a combined score of 129, which was good for 4th best in the Conference. The women finished with a score of 253, which ranked them 9th in the conference.
Dan Schaffer of Binghamton and Emily MacKay of Binghamton were the 2021 America East Champions. UMass Lowell finished with the best team scores on both the men's and women's teams.
