BOSTON, Mass. - The America East Conference announced on Wednesday morning that University of Maine cross country runner, Sam Mills, was named the Male Performer of the Week for his performance at the New England Championships on Saturday, Oct. 9.

Mills, a junior out of Biddeford, ME, earned his second weekly award of the season. He ran a conference best 24:46.5 at the meet and finished with a conference best 3rd place in the meet.

For Mills, he has won two straight weekly awards on weekends where the Black Bears have competed.

Mills and the rest of the Black Bears will be competing in one final meet for the 2021 season as they prepare of the America East Championships on Friday, Oct. 29. That meet will take place in Durham, NH.
