Wright-McLeish's career-high 12 points not enough, free throw problems plague Maine
ORONO - The University of Maine men's basketball team fell to New Hampshire on Sunday afternoon, as the Wildcats earned a split in the weekend America East series with a 62-58 victory in Memorial Gymnasium.
New Hampshire built out their biggest lead of the day with a converted free throw giving them a 60-46 lead with just five minutes remaining. Sophomore Ja'Shonte Wright-McLeish led the Black Bears on a 12-0 run over the next 4:03, scoring ten of the points himself, dragging Maine to within two points with 17 seconds on the clock. UNH went 1-2 at the free-throw line to stop their scoreless streak and give themselves a three-point edge. Ata Turgut missed a contested step-back three on the next possession as the clock expired, and UNH escaped with a 62-58 victory after another 1-2 showing at the line.

- Wright-McLeish's 12 points are a new career-high for the Canadian. He also added in a rebound and an assist in his 18 minutes, while shooting 5-6 from the field.
- Stephane Ingo recorded his second straight and fourth career double-double with 10 points and a new career-high 17 boards (six offensive) alongside four blocks.
- Taylor Schildroth got his first career collegiate start, scoring six points on 2-4 shooting from three along with three assists.
- Mykhailo Yagodin stayed steady, recording another double-digit day in the scoring column with ten points on 3-4 shooting from three.
- Free throws broke the Black Bears back today, as Maine left ten points at the charity stripe with a 7-17 showing.
