Catamounts roll by Black Bears in Burlington

BURLINGTON, Vt. - The University of Maine men's basketball team fell to the University of Vermont on Wednesday night, as the conference front runners lived up to their pedigree and dispatched the Black Bears by a 77-52 final score.
Maine never held the lead in this contest, as the Catamounts carried a 33-22 lead into halftime before putting up a dominant second half sparked by a 24-7 run to start things and cruising to the 77-52 victory at Patrick Gymnasium.
MAINE GAME NOTES
Maine travels further west for their next tilt, as they'll head to Vestal, New York to take on Binghamton this Saturday at 2:00.

- Sergio El Darwich led the way with 12 points, and Vilgot Larsson and Nedeljko Prijovic each put up 11 points to round out the double-digit scorers.
- Redshirt freshman Stephane Ingo approached his first career double-double with eight points and nine rebounds in his fifth career start.
- The free-throw line disparity set the Black Bears back in the first half, as UVM was granted 13 attempts in the half in contrast to just a single one for Maine.
- Maine was also hurt by the turnover game, as they lost overall by a 15-8 margin and the Catamounts turned the Black Bears' miscues into 23 points.
