WORCESTER, Mass. --
PhilAnn Dixon paced the Black Bears with a second-place finish in the 1-meter dive on the opening night of the 2020 America East Swimming & Diving Championships on Thursday evening.
Dixon's second place finish on the 1-meter board came after the sophomore tallied a final score of 222.95 to garner 17 points for the Black Bears.
Caroline Strolic,
Sabrina Nuttall,
Rita Chen and
Emma Blair teamed up to take runner-up honors in the 200-yard medley relay with a final time of 1:42.79.
The Black Bears captured a fourth place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay with the team of
Ines Khiyara,
Kayla Loughman,
Valentina Rengifo and
Maggie White touching the wall at 7:30.00.
Maine, currently in fifth place with 82 points after day one of competition, returns to the pool on Friday with preliminary action beginning at 10 a.m. followed by diving at 4 p.m. and day two finals at 5:30 p.m.
