LOWELL, Mass. - The University of Maine men's basketball team fell to UMass-Lowell on Wednesday night at the Tsongas Center, as the River Hawks pulled away late to earn the season split with the Black Bears by a 71-63 final score.

The game was tightly contested for thirty minutes, but the Maine offense went cold for the final ten minutes of this one, posting a 1-10 mark from three in the final ten minutes and a 1-8 mark from the field in the final five minutes to let this one slip away.

MAINE GAME NOTES

Sergio El Darwich led the Maine offense with 13 points on 6-12 shooting, his eighth straight game in double-digit scoring figures.
His co-captain Andrew Fleming just missed out on his 13th career double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds.
Freshman Ja'Shonté Wright-McLeish tied a career-high with eight points in his third career start. Redshirt freshman Stephane Ingo provided eight points and four rebounds in 22 minutes off the bench.
The rebound battle was tight, with the River Hawks pulling out a slim 33-32 advantage, alongside a 25-30 night at the free-throw line that outpaced Maine's 15-17 night.

Maine returns home to the Cross Insurance Center on Sunday afternoon to take on the UAlbany Great Danes, a team that defeated the Black Bears by a 76-70 score in Albany on January 11th.
