ORONO - For the first time since 2016-17, Maine men's basketball received an America East Rookie of the Week honor on Tuesday evening, as
LeChaun DuHart got the award after averaging 13.7 points per game and shooting 50% from the field in Maine's first three games.
DuHart posted point totals of 13, 9, and 19 in the first three contests of Maine's season, posting a shooting split of 50.0/45.5/77.8. As of Tuesday evening, LeChaun ranks seventh in the conference in scoring, fourth in field goal percentage, third in three-point percentage, and first in three point field goals per game (3.3).
Starting all three of his first career games in Orono, DuHart has established himself as a lead guard and shooting option in the Black Bears offense, and also managed six rebounds, four steals, and four assists in the first three tilts.
The last Black Bear to be named America East Rookie of the Week was Andrew Fleming '20 in February of 2017.
