CHESTNUT HILL, Massachusetts -- Patrick Shea scored an overtime game winner to give the University of Maine men's ice hockey team their second straight overtime win and fifth consecutive victory over Boston College.Â

First Goal (#4 Boston College 1-0): Julius Mattila scored a power play goal just over 00:40 into the opportunity. The Eagles were able to swing the puck around the Black Bear defense until they found an open Mattila. #4 Boston College appeared to have scored the final goal of the first period.

Second Goal (1-1): After a penalty was called on the Eagles, Maine wasted little time tying the game at one.
Adam Dawe cycled the puck out to
Veli-Matti Tiuraniemi, who launched the puck towards the BC goal. With blockers in front, the defenseman's shot found its way into the net. After 20:00, the Hockey East game was tied 1-1.

Third Goal (Maine 2-1): Mitchell Fossier scored Maine's second power play goal of the night halfway through the second period. As was the case last night,
Adam Dawe and
Tim Doherty were credited with the helpers. Fossier's quick release was the key to finding the back of the Eagles' net. After two periods, the Black Bears led 2-1.

Fourth Goal (2-2): Ron Greco, with a shot from just inside the blue line, tied the Saturday evening contest at two goals apiece. The Eagles forced a turnover in the neutral and immediately turned it into a goal. With 10:46 left, both teams had lit the lamp two times.

Fifth Goal (Maine 3-2): The Black Bears once again scored on overtime goal.
Patrick Shea forced a turnover behind the Eagles' net.
Tim Doherty flipped the puck towards the crease that deflected of Shea and into the net. The goal gave Maine their fifth straight win over Boston College, including three straight in the Conte Forum.

Notes: Jeremy Swayman finished with 36 saves for the Black Bears, while Spencer Knight tallied 22 for the Eagles.

Maine went 2-3 on the power play, as BC was 1-8 on their man advantages.

The Black Bears blocked 12 shots as a team.
