BANGOR, Maine - The University of Maine cross country teams both got their seasons started on Friday morning, competing against Army West Point at Saxl Park in Bangor.
On the men's side, senior
Jacob Terry placed fourth overall with a time of 20:39.0 to lead the Black Bears.
Alec Troxell (21:08.4) and
Colin Tardiff (21:08.9) finished eighth and ninth respectively to round out the top-ten finishers for Maine, as Army West Point cruised to the 17-44 victory.Â
The women's Army West Point team took the top eleven spots in their race, with freshman
Kayla Raymond leading the Black Bears with a 17:09.8 time and a 12
th place finish, as the Black Knights completed the sweep of the meet with a 15-50 victory.Â
Both Maine teams return to action next weekend when they travel to Dartmouth College to race in the Sanchez Southern Invitational on Saturday, September 7th.
