PHILADELPHIA— A group of track and field athletes represented the Black Bears at the Penn Relays over the weekend.

Maine won the men's sprint medley, with Camden Cleathero, Mozai Nelson, Andrew Clement and James Olivier finishing at 3:27.7.

The 4x400 relay of Clement, Branden Kuusela, Michael O'Clair and Cleathero finished at 3:21.77 for their best finish of the season.

Elijah White was strong in both his events, finishing the long jump at 6.99 meters for tenth place in the event for his best finish this season. White finished the triple jump at 14.19 meters for sixth place. Kelby Mace gave Maine another strong finish in the javelin, throwing 56.53 meters for an eleventh place finish.

For the women, the 4x400 relay group finished at 17 in the heat, as Cassidy Hill, Alexis Dietrich, Brittany Torchia and Erica Magnuson crossed at 3:47.85 for the best finish of the outdoor season by 15 seconds. The group advanced to the Eastern final, taking seventh at 3:51.82.

Anna Schumann competed for the Black Bears in the triple jump, with a strong 10.98 meter jump.

The Black Bears will be competing in the America East Championships next weekend in Albany, New York.
