Orono, Maine -- University of Maine head football coach Nick Charlton and members of his coaching staff were pleased to announce the annual Maine Football Team Awards in front of family, friends and fans at the annual end of the season banquet on Sunday afternoon at Wells Conference Center.

• Walter Abbott Outstanding Defensive Player Award: Kayon Whitaker

• Woody Carville Student-Athlete Achievement Award: Manny Patterson
