Stony Brook (25-21) broke a scoreless tie with a single run in the bottom of the fifth. The Seawolves were able to get two aboard on a double from Jourdin Hering before Katelynn Corr was hit by a pitch. Following a fielder's choice, Melissa Rahrich reached on an infield single. Irene Rivera's 14-pitch at bat ended in a walk, bringing in Hering with the game's first run. O'Donnell settled in, getting the next batter to strikeout to leave the bases loaded.

The Seawolves tacked on a run in the bottom of the sixth when Nicole McCarville doubled before later coming in on a sacrifice fly from Allyssa Malony.

Decker started the seventh with a sharp single into left as the Black Bears looked for some late inning magic. However, Stony Brook was able to get the next three hitters in order as the Seawolves took the contest, eliminating Maine with a 2-0 decision.
