BOSTON – After earning one of the America East's highest academic honors in the Elite 18 Award, junior Lauren Magnuson has been selected to the America East Indoor Track and Field All-Academic Team, the conference office announced on Wednesday afternoon.
 
Magnuson posted the highest grade point average on the list of the 10 student-athletes, registering an impressive 3.96 GPA as an elementary education major. The South Portland native's academic accolades are impressive, as she has been named to the Dean's List five times and has made the America East Commissioner's Honor Roll twice.
 
On the track, Magnuson's indoor season was highlighted with a runner-up all-conference performance in the 200m (24.49) at the America East Indoor Track and Field Championships. She also earned top-10 finishes in the event at NEICAAA's (5^th, 25.34) and at the BU John Thomas Terrier Classic (9^th, 24.92).
 
The Black Bears' outdoor season resumes on the weekend of April 6, when Maine travels to both the Miami Hurricanes Alumni Invitational along with a tri-meet against UNH and Holy Cross in New Hampshire.
