BOSTON, Mass. - The University of Maine men's ice hockey team defeated the Boston University Terriers, 3-1, on Satuday night at the Agganis Arena in thanks to 40 saves from
Jeremy Swayman and two goals from captain
Chase Pearson.

First goal (1-0 Maine):
Mitchell Fossier's first goal of the 2018-19 season gave his squad a 1-0 lead with 9:02 left in the first period. Maine was on the power play when they scored the goal.
Rob Michel geared up as to shoot from the blue line but, instead, passed the puck to
Chase Pearson. Pearson re-directed the puck to Fossier who was waiting for an opportunity. The junior capitalized and grabbed a 1-0 lead.

Second goal (2-0 Maine):
Chase Pearson scored the Black Bears' second goal of the game 3:11 into the second period.
Alexis Binner saw
Mitchell Fossier unmarked and streaking through the neutral zone. Pearson followed suit. The two Alpharetta, Georgia, natives teamed up to score a breakaway goal that gave their team a 2-0 lead.

Third goal (2-1 Maine): Boston University's first goal of the game was set up by a
Jeremy Swayman save. Logan Cockerill had his shot saved by the Black Bears' netminder. The rebound could not be corralled by Maine. Bobo Carpenter took advantage and scored the Terriers' first goal of the Hockey East contest with 9:50 to go in the second period.

Fourth goal (3-1 Maine):
Chase Pearson scored Maine's third and final goal. Pearson's goal was an empty net tally. The Black Bears held onto the 3-1 lead for their fourth win of the 2018-19 season.
