Men’s Basketball Faces Tough Test in NC State Saturday

ORONO, Maine – After returning home from its west-coast trip, the University of Maine men's basketball team heads back on the road Saturday, when Maine (0-3) takes on ACC-foe North Carolina State (3-0) at PNC Arena. The game will be broadcasted on ACC Digital Network, which is available to stream on WatchESPN.
The Black Bears seek its first win of the season and its sixth victory in program-history over an ACC foe. All five of Maine's wins against ACC competition have come against Boston College. The meeting is the first-ever between the Black Bears and Wolfpack.
Isaiah White (13.3 ppg), Andrew Fleming (9.7. ppg), Terion Moss (9.3. ppg) and Sergio El Darwich have paced the Black Bear offense through three games. Vilgot Larsson is producing seven points per game, while grabbing 6.7 rebounds, which leads Maine.
The Wolfpack are averaging 100 points per game in its three wins against Mount St. Mary's (105-55), Maryland Eastern Shore (95-49) and UNC Asheville (100-49). Currently, NC State ranks 10th nationally in points per game, 3rd in scoring margin (49.0) and 8th in scoring defense (51.0). Five players are averaging 10-plus points per game for NC State, led by Torin Dorn (21.0 ppg).
After playing N.C. State, Maine will head to the Lone Star State to play North Texas in its second game of the Wolfpack Classic.
