Maine Baseball's Christopher Bec Awarded America East Fan's Choice Award

The Junior Catcher led the conference in batting average in his first season at Maine.
ORONO, Maine - Christopher Bec was named America East Fan's Choice Player of the Year this morning after receiving the most votes in the fan vote put out by the America East Conference.
The Junior catcher is in his first year at the University of Maine after transferring to Maine his sophomore season, and ended the regular season with a .360 batting average, the highest on the team and highest in the conference, ranking 93rd nationally. Bec is in a tie for the most doubles hit in conference this year with 17, and started all of Maine's 48 games this season as either the Catcher or the designated hitter.
Bec and the Black Bears travel to Lowell, MA on Tuesday for the America East Awards Ceremony, before facing the Albany Great Danes in the first game of the America East Tournament on Wednesday morning at 11am.
