ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine track and field team sent athletes to Holy Cross, Wednesday, for the Holy Cross Multi-Event Meet.
On the men's side, third-year Garrett Johnson finished in second in the decathlon with a total of 5935 points. Johnson's 5935 rank third in America East and is a career-high. Johnson finished first in the pole vault with a vault of 4.25m, the 400m (50.78) and in the 1500m (4:39.13).
Fourth-year Andrew Toothaker finished in sixth in the decathlon with a total of 5187 points and a win in the 110m hurdles with a time of 16.01. Toothaker also finished in second in the pole vault (3.75m) and the high jump (1.82m).
On the women's side, fourth-year Alexa Frame finished in twelfth place in the heptathlon with a total of 3512 points. Frame's best finish was in the 100m hurdles, where she finished ninth with a time of 16.20. This was Frame's first-ever heptathlon. Fourth-year Grace MacLean ended with a DNF.
The Black Bears will next compete at the Princeton Invitational on April 22nd, while other athletes will compete at Holy Cross on the same day.
