The University of Maine men's and women's track teams competed at home, Saturday, against UNH. The men's team won by a score of 94-71, while the women finished second by a score of 85.5-79.5.
First-year Jacob Stanko finished third in the weight throw with a 14.55m throw. Third-year Alecsander Wortman won the pole vault after a 4.26m vault, followed by third-year Garrett Johnson, who finished with a best of 3.96m.
Second-year Andrew Smith finished in second in the long jump with a jump of 6.11m.. First-year Troy Davis won the high jump with a 1.90m jump, while third-year Andrew Toothaker scored two points with a 1.75m jump.
Third-year Adam Lufkin scored three points in the shot put with a throw of 14.12m. In the triple jump, first-year Troy Davis finished in first with a jump of 12.69m.Fourth-year Jacob Johns won the 1 mile run with a time of 4.16:63, followed by fourth-year Levi Frye who finished with a time of 4.23:46. Johns won the 1000 meter run with a 2:33.44.
Third-year Joseph Slattery finished first in the 400 meter dash with a time of 50.76, followed by first-year Cooper Nelson, who finished in 54.08. In the 60 meter dash, Third-year Mozai Nelson won in a time of 7.05, followed by Smith, who ran a 7.44.
Second-year Tucker Corbett finished first in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:57.2, while Roger Quehl finished in second in 1.57.9. In the 3000 meter run, Third-year Joshua Horne won with a time of 8:39.08. Maine's 4x400 meter relay team of Corbett, Slattery, Johnson and third-year Elijah Yeboah finished in first with a time of 3:25.19.
On the women's side, fourth-year
Ashley Donohoe won the weight throw with a throw of 15.69m. Donohoe won the shot put with a throw of 12.48m. Second-year
Taylor Lenentine finished first with a 3.35m vault.
In the long jump, third-year Grace MacLean won with a 5.53m jump, with second-year Ariel Clachar who placed second after a 5.25m jump. MacLean went on to win the high jump after a 1.70m jump. MacLean won her third event after placing first in the 60 meter hurdles with a time of 8.96.
In the 1 mile run, first-year Alison Wyman scored two points with a time of 5:17.75. In the 400 meter dash, Fourth-year Teal Jackson finished first with a time of 58.78, followed by third-year Alexis Dietrich, who finished in a time of 59.43. Jackson went on to also win the 200 meter dash with a time of 26.94. The 800 meter run was won by third-year Kaitlin Saulter in a time of 2:17.42. Maine's 4x400 meter relay team that consisted of MacLean, Dietrich, Saulter and first-year Brittany Torchia won with a time of 4:04.99.
Maine will next see action on February 24th at the America East championships.
