PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island -- Maine men's basketball head coach
Bob Walsh will be inducted into the Rhode Island College Athletics Hall of Fame on October 1, 2016. Walsh coached at Rhode Island College for nine seasons. He holds the school record for the highest career winning percentage with a .764 mark and ranks second in career victories compiling a record of 204-63.
Walsh led the Anchormen to eight straight NCAA tournament appearances from 2007 to 2014, including three appearances in the Sweet 16 and one trip to the Elite Eight. The NCAA berths marked the first trips to the tournament in 28 years for RIC. The Anchormen won six conference tournament championships and five regular season titles in his nine years in charge.
"It's such a tremendous honor to be inducted into the Rhode Island College Athletics Hall of Fame," said head coach
Bob Walsh. "RIC is a special place and the time Alicia and I spent there was very rewarding. I was surrounded by hall of fame players and some of the toughest kids you'll ever meet, and we had terrific administrative leadership. The relationships we developed there will last forever."
