Maine Women's Soccer Records Second Shutout of the Weekend Against Fordham

Orono, Maine-- The University of Maine women's soccer team recorded its second shutout of the weekend and the second win of its season on Sunday, Aug. 23 against Fordham.
After a 1-0 win against Fairfield during their season opener on Friday night, the Black Bears looked to continue their winning streak. With a total of eleven shots, Maine's offense looked strong and in control.
Maine's goal came from Vivien Beil, a freshman who scored her first career goal off a pass from teammate Jenna Soucy. Beil was able to capitilize off a corner kick, and recieve a pass from Soucy that she then kicked high and wide over the goalkeeper.
Claudia Dube-Trempe earned her second shutout of the season, and the Black Bears improved to 2-0 on the season.
Maine returns to play on Sunday, Aug. 30 to host Rhode Island at 1 PM on Mahaney Diamond before a four game road stretch.
