Swimming and Diving Competes Against Bowdoin on Senior Day

ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed against Bowdoin on Saturday in a non-scored meet. Prior to the meet, Maine honored its eight seniors.
The University of Maine 200-yard medley relay team of Tessa Lindsley (Bath, Maine), Naja Harvey (Orono, Minnesota), Taylor Sharp (Burlington, Ontario) and Katerina Mosquera-Cardi (Montreal, Quebec) took top honors with a time of 1:50.00. Maine's team of Amber Murray (Dover-Foxcroft, Maine), Abby Linn (Elkhart, Indiana) Victoria Kingston (Bradford, Ontario) and Meri Wicks (Bangor, Maine) was second with a time of 1:53.49, while the team of Emily Borger (Air Force Base, Mass.), Sammy Mathieu (Oakland, Maine), Emma Pontius (Portland, Maine) and Emily Buczkowski (Woolwich, Maine) was third in 1:56.55.
Maine took the top three spots in the 200-yard freestyle relay with Borger, O'Neill, Wicks and Lindsley placing first in 1:43.04. The team of Sharp, Ulici, Kingston and Norman was second in 1:43.10, while the team of Harvey, Pontius, Mathieu and Buczkowski finished third in 1:43.77.
Adams won the 50-yard freestyle in 25.86. Pontus was second in the 100-yard freestyle with a time of 56.65, while Mathieu was third in 58.44. Harvey was first in the 200-yard freestyle in a time of 1:57.14, while Kailey Dowd (Mendon, Mass.) was second in 2:01.24. Cecelia McEachern (Ellsworth, Maine) was second in the 500-yard freestyle in 5:34.62, while Wicks was third in 5:34.82. Maine earned spots one through four in the 1000-yard freestyle. Chloe Adams (Davie, Fla.) posted a time of 10:54.05 followed by Antonia Ulici (Winnipeg, Manitoba) in 11:00.00, Courtney Norman (Pointe-Claire, Quebec) in 11:02.57 followed by Meghan O'Neill (Frisco, Texas) in 11:16.55.
Ulici won the 100-yard butterfly in 1:00.62, while Kingston was second in 1:01.03. Kingston was first in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:14.36, while Dowd was second in 2:19.06.
Mosquera-Cardi was third in the 100-yard IM in 1:02.71.
Sharp won the 100-yard backstroke in 1:01.65, followed by Pontius (1:02.72) and Emily Borger (1:03.27). Sharp won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:14.80.
Hayli Weitz (Long Beach, New York) was second in the 1-meter diving with a score of 200.10, while Kayle Boutsfield was third with a mark of 162.37. Weitz was second in the 3-meter diving with a score of 188.55, while Boutsfield was third with a score of 164.32.
On the men's side, the 200-yard medley relay team of Matt England (Bangor, Maine), Ryan Fahey (Quincy, Mass.), Nicholas Sundquist (Windham, Maine) and Eric Gaulin (Northport, Maine) was first with a time of 1:38.55, while Maine's team of Connor Mayhew (Waterboro, Maine), Peter Tirabassi (Lewiston, Maine), Cameron Dwyer (Orono, Maine) and Tim Edison (Westford, Mass.) was third in 1:41.60.
The 200-yard freestyle relay team of Fahey, Sundquist, England and Dwyer won with a time of 1:32.06.
Gaulin was third in the 50-yard freestyle in 22.85. Maine took the top three spots in the 1,000-yard freestyle with Alex Penn (Westfield, New Jersey) in 10:48.72, Benjamin Hebert (South Berwick, Maine) in 10:59.13 and Alex Tucci (Pittsfield, Mass.) third in 11:11.39.
Sundquist was first in the 100-yard butterfly in 52.01, while England placed third in 55.61.
Tirabassi was second in the 100-yard breaststroke in 1:02.20. Dwyer was second in the 200-yard freestyle in 1:49.92, while Mayhew was third in 1:51.25 and Fahey third in 1:51.56.
Nick Jenson (Kennebunk, Maine) was second in the men's 1-meter diving with a score of 222.45. Jenson was second in the 3-meter diving with a score of 219.45.
Prior to the meet the following seniors will be honored for their Black Bear careers: Emily Buczkowski (Woolwich, Maine), Kelly Fleming (Auburn, New Hampshire), Naja Harvey (Orono, Minnesota), Abby Linn (Elkhart, Indiana), Kayla Merchant (Sebec, Maine), Ryan Fahey (Quincy, Mass.), Eric Gaulin (Northport, Maine) and David Vittori (South Berwick, Maine).
