George Tager begins his first season as volunteerassistant with the Black Bears. 

“George is a hard-working guy who is going to helpout in all facets of the program,” said Trimper. “Hewill help not only on the field with hitters and outfielders, butalso in the office working with travels along with camps andclinics.”

Tager played for the Black Bears for two season aftertransferring from the Community College of Rhode Island. 

While with the Black Bears, Tager played in 70 games forthe Black Bears, primarily in the outfield. He hit .255 with 27runs scored and 33 RBI. He hit three doubles to go along with fourhome runs. 

Tager excelled in the classroom. He was named a MaineScholar-Athlete Award winner, in addition to being named to theAmerica East Academic Honor Roll. in 2010, he earned a spot on theAmerica East All-Academic Team. 

Tager graduated from the University of Maine in 2010 witha degree in economics.
