Frederick Maurer began his time at UMaine in August of 2023.

Prior to his time at UMaine, Maurer worked at Michigan as a temporary equipment full-time intern in 2022. He primarily worked with the Olympic sports while at Michigan and occasionally shadowed and learned from the hockey equipment manager where he gained knowledge with basic hockey skills.

Maurer, who grew up in Reading, Pa., graduated from York College of Pennsylvania in 2020 with a bachelor's degree in sport management.
