Erin Magnuson '20 was named the Director of Athletic Development in April 2025.

Magnuson provides the overall strategy, leadership and direction for the Alfond Fund, with a focus on growing the annual giving efforts for all 17 varsity sports programs. Additionally, she oversees the Alfond Classic Golf Tournament, Maine Day of Giving athletic fundraising, as well as annual fund initiatives and development events for the department. 

Magnuson was a four-year member of the Maine cross country and track and field teams and prior to returning to Orono, worked for Gonzaga University and the Spokane Sports Commission. 

The Ellington, Conn. native holds a bachelor's degree from Maine in English and a master's degree from Gonzaga in sports and athletic administration.
