Mathew began working in the Athletic Department as a student worker in 2011. From that time, he was fortunate enough to secure a full-time position as the Assistant Coordinator of Athletic Grounds in 2015.
In August of 2022, Mathew took the position as the Director of Athletic Events. In this role, he is responsible for organizing, planning, and coordinating all Division-I athletic events that occur on campus. Mathew is responsible for contacting/coordinating with visiting teams and officials prior to their visit to Orono. During sporting contests, he manages student employees employed as Event Staff who have all sorts of responsibilities.
