Gen Richardson was announced as an assistant coach of the Maine women's ice hockey program in September of 2022.
Richardson comes to Maine after coaching hockey at the high school prep and public levels in the Boston MA. area for the past six years. Her diverse background in marketing, management and leadership has guided her to also conduct leadership development and team cohesion training at the Cambridge Rindge and Latin School in Cambridge M.A. for the captains and coaches.Â

Richardson attended Boston College where she competed on both the ice hockey and soccer teams. In her senior year, she served as co-captain of the hockey team and competed internationally as a member of the USA Women's Ice Hockey Team. She skated in two Four Nations tournaments in both Kitchener Ontario and Sweden. She was also invited to compete in the World Championships in Beijing China. Unfortunately, that tournament was canceled due to the SARS epidemic. After college, Richardson played professionally in Ontario, Canada in the CWHL.Â

Off the ice, Richardson is a certified yoga teacher and a certified Wilderness First Responder.
