PREP: Originally born and raised in Minsk, Belarus... Played for coach Jody Patrick at Flint Hill School... Served as captain during her senior season... Was a 2006 First-Team VISGBA All-State selection... Was a four-year starter... Named the Sun-Gazette Rookie of the Year... Also played volleyball and was an all-state performer in the sport... Named MVP of her volleyball team in 2003-04... Served as volleyball captain for two seasons... Also had a distinguished AAU basketball career, including placing high in several national tournament... Finished fifth in the AAU nationals on 12 & 13-year-old team... Her team took eighth place in the nationals in 2005... Her 16 & 17-year-old team took first in the regional tournament... Named to the Hall of Fame for the Fairfax Stars AAU team... Served as a camp counselor for several basketball camps throughout the Annandale area.
PERSONAL: Born Jan. 5, 1988... Daughter of Guennadi and Elena Bratishko... Guennadi, a world champion in rowing in 1979, was the strength & condioning coach at George Washington University from 1995-2001... Elena, a 1982 world champion in rowing, competed in the sport in the 1980 Olympics for Russia and won a silver medal.
MAJOR: A business administration major... Would like to run her own business someday.
