Off the ice, Perez owns and operates his own business named 'Monkey Mind' - https://monkeymindathletes.com/. The mission statement from the website reads, "The platform for athletes past and present to feel safe discussing the struggles we as athletes feel or have felt. Allowing our guests to tell their story the way they want and feel. Offering support, guidance and an ear to listen. From one struggling athlete to another, we hear you, we are here for you and we are with you. It's okay to not be okay."
