IN 2013–14: Had a record-setting seasonfor the Black Bears... Named a Second Team All-American... Named tothe Hockey East First Team... 2014 recipient of the Bob MonahanAward as the top defenseman in New England... Named to the All-NewEngland Team... USCHO Second Team... Set the school record forgoals in a season by a defenseman with 15... First time in Mainehistory that a defenseman has led the team in goals scored... Ledthe nation in goals scored by a defenseman and in power play goalsby a defenseman... Played in all 35 games for the Black Bears...Scored 15 goals and added 14 assists for 29 points to finish secondon the team in scoring... Had a pair of goals in games againstBoston College (11/23), Boston University in 2014 Frozen Fenway(1/11) and at Northeastern (2/22)... Scored the game-winning goalin Maine’s 2-0 victory over Vermont (11/8)... Also has thegame-winner against Boston College (11/23)... Had a shorthandedgoal in Maine’s 7-0 win over Boston University (11/15)... Ledthe team in blocked shots with 40... Named a Maine Scholar-AthleteAward winner.

 

IN 2012–13: Had a solid rookie campaignfor the Black Bears... Played in 34 games his first season on theblueline... Scored four goals and added 11 assists for 15 points...Finished third on the team in scoring and Maine’s top scoringdefenseman... Picked up his first career point with an assistagainst Army (10/13) in the 2012 Ice Breaker Tournament... Scoredhis first career goal against UMass Lowell (11/9) on the powerplay... Also notched goals against Vermont (12/1), at UMass (2/22)and against Northeastern (3/1)... His goals at UMass and againstNortheastern were both game-winners... His two game-winning goalswere tied for second most on the team... Named a MaineScholar-Athlete *Rising Star* and named to the Hockey EastAll-Academic Team. 

 

BEFORE MAINE: Played for the Nepean Raiders andthe Kemptville 73’s... Played in 45 games for Nepean where hescored nine goals and added 25 assists for 34 points... Played in38 games as a captain for Kemptville and tallied nine goals and 22assists... In 2010-11 saw action in 64 games for Kemptville wherehe scored nine goals and dished out 30 assists... Played in 60games during the 2009-10 season with 16 goals and 18assists...  was named to the CCHL All-Star Team... Led hisNepean Raiders Team to the CCHL League Championship and the BogartCup. 

 

PERSONAL: A business major... Born April 20,1993... Son on Jim and Janet Hutton... Has a sister, Maggie...Drafted in the fifth round, 147th overall by Vancouver.
