2009 OFFSEASON: Was voted a senior tri-captain following spring practice ... named a preseason honorable-mention All-American by Consensus Draft Services. 2008: Named to the CAA Football All-Academic Team ... saw action at several positions last season, including quarterback, wide receiver, punter and kick coverage units ... started the season as a wideout and caught a 37-yard pass on Maine's first offensive play at Iowa (8/30) ... overall, he caught 11 passes for 118 yards (10.7 ypc) ... caught at least one pass in seven games, including three games with multiple receptions ... he made his biggest impact at quarterback as he came on midway through the Delaware game as the starting quarterback ... in the 27-10 win over the 20th-ranked Delaware Blue Hens, he had caught two passes for 13 yards in the early going ... following an injury to Adam Farkes in the first half, Brusko came on at quarterback and completed 5-of-7 passes for 65 yards ... he rushed nine times for 40 yards and the eventual game-winning touchdown ... he punted once which was downed inside the Delaware five-yard line, and made a special teams tackle ...he became the starting quarterback the rest of the season and led Maine on a six-game winning streak which helped the Black Bears reach the NCAA playoffs for just the fifth time in school history ... the six-game winning streak marked just the 15th time in the program's 117 seasons that Maine put together a streak of at least six wins in a row ... overall at quarterback, he completed 67-of-104 passes for 936 yards, eight touchdowns and seven interceptions ... he ranked fourth in the CAA in pass efficiency at 151.9 ... a versatile runner, he also rushed 112 times for 417 yards and four touchdowns ... he was named the team's co-Offensive Player of the Year ... he topped 50 yards rushing in three games and 100 yards in one game ... he passed for over 100 yards in five games ... he three at least one touchdown pass in five games and threw multiple scoring strikes in three games ... he topped 200 yards passing/rushing in two games ... had three games where he had at least one carry, one pass completion and one pass reception ... passed for 155 yards and two scores, while rushing for 113 yards and a score in a 41-40 double-overtime win against Hofstra (10/18) ... completed 10-of-13 passes for 136 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for 93 yards against Northeastern (10/25) ... completed 11-of-14 passes for 141 yards and two touchdowns, while rushing for another versus Iona (11/1) ... rushed for 65 yards and a score against New Hampshire (11/22) ... passed for 180 yards and a touchdown versus Northern Iowa (11/29) in the playoffs ... named a Maine Scholar-Athlete. 2007: Entered the season as the starting quarterback (his first full season of extensive playing time)... started the first three games of the season and the final two of the campaign ... also saw extensive action versus Towson (11/3) and helped lead the Black Bears to the victory ... was 3-3 as the starter ... also saw time at one of the wideout spots ... saw action overall in 10 games ... completed 60-of-100 passes (60%) for 561 yards, four touchdowns and two interceptions ... also rushed 72 times for 340 yards (2nd most on the team) and four touchdowns ... saw action on the special teams' kick coverage units and made three tackles, including two at Stony Brook (10/20) ... rushed for over 100 yards in two games ... rushed for 109 yards and a touchdown and led Maine to a season-opening win over Monmouth (9/1) ... caught a pass for eight yards at Northeastern (10/27) ... came on in relief of an injured Adam Farkes in the first half versus Towson and led Maine to a 16-13 win ... recorded 308 yards of total offense and accounted for five touchdowns in a 35-0 win over Rhode Island (11/10) ... rushed for 146 yards and three scores against the Rams, while also passing for 162 yards and two scoring tosses ... tied a Scholar-Athlete. 2006: Named to the Academic All-Atlantic 10 Team ... saw action in all 11 games, including time as the backup quarterback and the starting holder on kicks ... completed 4-of-6 passes for 23 yards ... rushed 21 times for 93 yards, including a touchdown ... completed one pass for seven yards and rushed five times for 21 yards versus Shaw (9/23) ... led the team with 32 yards rushing, including a 16-yard run, at Boston College (9/30) ... also completed 1-of-1 pass attempts for five yards against the Eagles ... rushed three times for 12 yards and scored a touchdown on a fake field goal against Hofstra (10/21) ... rushed for 10 yards and was 2-of-3 for 11 yards versus Northeastern (11/4) ... rushed for 13 yards at Massachusetts (11/11) ... named a Maine Scholar-Athlete. 2005: Sat out the season as a redshirt. BEFORE MAINE/PERSONAL: Played quarterback, wide receiver, punter, free safety and linebacker for coach Joe Bottiglieri at Emmaus H.S. ... helped lead team to the District 11 "AAAA" PIAA state playoffs ... earned first-team all-conference honors at quarterback and defensive back ... also played basketball and served as captain of the team for two years ... named to the all-conference team as a junior in basketball ... was a member of his high school's Spanish Honor Society ... born Aug. 4, 1987 ... son of Michael and Deborah Ann Brusko ... graduated in May 2009 with honors in broadcast journalism ... pursuing a Master's in the same major.
