2008: Started all 13 games at left guard ... marked first season as a starter ... helped pave the way for Maine to finish third in the CAA in rushing, thus marking the third-straight year the Black Bears finished in the top four in the league in rushing ... helped to open running lanes for running back Jared Turcotte to earn all-conference and All-America honors ... tailback Jhamal Fluellen also earned all-conference and All-America honors running behind the line. 2007: Saw limited action in one game versus Towson (11/3). 2006: Sat out the season as a redshirt. BEFORE MAINE/PERSONAL: Played on the offensive line for coach Dan Molcosy at Damascus H.S. ... started 28-consecutive games at left tackle and did not give up a quarterback sack ... also recorded 70 pancake blocks during his career ... helped lead his high school team to victories in the 2003 and 2005 Maryland 4A State Championship ... was an honorable mention for the all-state team ... born May 27, 1988 ... son of Mark and Jeanette Barber ... a kinesiology and physical education major/sports management.
