Kenny Tinsley was hired as assistant coach - running backs on June 17, 2021.
Tinsley joined the staff after spending three years coaching the wide receivers and serving as assistant strength and conditioning coach at Union College. Prior to his time at Union, Tinsley served assistant coaching stints at American International College, Morrisville State College, and Bates College.
Tinsley spent the 2018, 2019, and 2020 seasons at Union College where he played a key part in the Dutchmen's offense game planning as he assisted with development of the wide receiver unit. Outside of his role as an assistant coach, Tinsley served as assistant strength and conditioning coach where he conducted the in-season and off-season strength and conditioning program for the football program. In 2019, Tinsley helped guide the Dutchmen to an undefeated regular season and an 11-1 mark overall. Individually, Tinsley developed Andre Ross Jr. into a two-time All-Liberty League First-Team receiver. Ross led the Liberty League in yards per catch in 2019 and earned Liberty League Rookie of the Year honors in 2018 after leading the league in receiving yards, receiving touchdowns, and average yards per catch.
Prior to joining Union College, Tinsley spent one season as the running back and linebackers coach at American International College while also assisting with the strength and conditioning program. During the 2016 season, Tinsley served as the wide receivers coach and assisted with the strength and conditioning program at Morrisville State after previously spending the 2014 and 2015 season as the wide receivers coach at Bates College in Lewiston, Maine.
Tinsley was a tight end for three seasons at Central State University. While at Central State, Tinsley played for five-time Pro Bowl honoree and New England Patriots Hall of Fame tight end Ben Coates, who served as CSU's offensive coordinator. Tinsley graduated from Central State University in 2013 with a degree in business administration management before going on to earn his MBA in business administration from American International College.
