EVIDENCE BASED PRACTICE

All of our varsity Sports Performance coaches are well-versed in the sciences, each having acquired a Master’s Degree and training certification from either the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), or the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa).  This ensures that all student athletes receive the highest level of care, and training efforts are purposeful and effective.  Our staff members consider themselves students of the human body, as well as the sports that they coach.  Each of our staff members attend practice sessions regularly in order to enhance the continuity of their training program, and understand the total volume loads that their athletes are asked to demonstrate.

Continuing education is an important aspect of our training philosophy.  Each year our staff members attend conferences and study new resources in order to stay informed of changes and new findings within the realm of research.  This allows us to stay up to date on our training principles, and make adjustments to ensure we are optimizing our student athletes time with us.  Recent studies have involved examining new resources from the Postural Restoration Institute which help us understand how the body responds to stress, and how we can adjust training loads daily to manage all types of stressors.
