Prior to Maine: Goodman comes from Miami Beach, FL where he joins the likes of current and former Black Bears Chris Bec,
Brandon Vicens,
Hernen Sardinas,
Danny Casals,
Nick Silva and Slinky Mederos who have all come from Miami to Maine. Connor attends Miami Country Day High School and plays for the Evoshield Florida and SASCN AAU teams. At Miami Country Day he received the Team MVP Award in 2018. He also is a part of National Honor Society at Miami Country Day. Team USA 17U NTIS selected Connor to represent his region. Perfect Game ranks Goodman the #18 3B in the State of Florida. Connor received Pre-Season All-American Honors from both Perfect Game and Under Armour. He also received All Tournament Honors at the Perfect Game WWBA National Championship in 2017. In addition to his accolades on the playing field, Connor has started two charities in Miami and has already reached out to get involved in the Bangor community as well.
Connor created Miami Marlins MVP's when he was 9 years old in partnership with Major League Baseball player Logan Morrison and the Miami Marlins Foundation. This program is designed to help kids who have lost a parent to enjoy a day at the ballpark, see a game, interact with players, and have a great time with him and his family. The program has helped dozens of families over the past 8 years and will continue to help those in need.
Connor started Connor's Champions: Choose Gloves, Not Drugs during his freshman year in High School. This program is designed to raise money and baseball equipment for underprivileged kids at the Boys and Girls Club. Over the past 3 years, Connor has raised thousands of dollars worth of equipment, and has recently started donating at a second Boys and Girls Club in Miami to help inspire and motivate kids to stay in school, participate in sports, stay away from crime and follow the passion that he loves.
"Connor is a great example of what a Black Bear is on and off the field. Aside from his ability to hit and play multiple positions, Connor is a role model and understands that as an athlete he has an important platform from which he can impact the community in a positive manner." --
