Biography
GRADUATE STUDENT (2023-24): Alternate Captain … Skated in all 37 games … notched 15 points on six goals and nine assists … scored three power-play goals, one short-handed goal and one game-winning goal … fired a career-high 94 shots on goal … recorded three multi-point games … blocked 13 shots … skated in his 150th career game and scored the game-winning goal at Vermont (March 2) … Maine was 10-2-0 when he had a point.
SENIOR (2022-23): Alternate Captain ... played in 36 games ... tied for second on the team with nine goals while leading the squad with 17 assists … recorded eight multi-point games ... had two assists against Air Force during the first game of the season (Oct. 7) ... scored two goals in a win at Vermont (Dec. 3) ... dished out two assists against UNH (Feb. 17) ... tallied a point and an assist against Alaska Anchorage (Jan. 7), UMass Lowell (Jan. 14), Merrimack (Feb. 5) and UMass (March 4) ... finished with a plus-7 rating.
JUNIOR (2021-22): Played in 32 games … tallied nine goals and six assists for 15 points … whistled for three penalties … dished out two assists in a 6-5 overtime victory over Merrimack, which was Coach Ben Barr’s first career win on the University of Maine bench (Nov. 12) ... scored a season high three points on one goal and two assists in a win over Alaska Fairbanks (Jan. 8).
SOPHOMORE (2020-21): Skated in all 16 games during the shortened season … recorded four goals and four assists for eight points … scored his first goal of the season at UMass Lowell (Jan. 3) ... Dished out his first assist of the season a night later (Jan. 4) ... recorded a point in five consecutive games (Jan. 3 Jan. 15) ... found the back of the net two times against Providence (Jan. 15) ... scored at UConn (Feb. 26).
FRESHMAN (2019-20): Skated in all 34 games … tallied three goals and five assists for eight points … recorded his first career goal, assist, and multi-point game all during a 4-2 victory against Boston University (Nov. 1) ... scored twice against Northeastern (Nov. 22) and St. Lawrence (Nov 29) ... named Rookie of the Week (Nov. 4).
BEFORE MAINE: Played for the Prince George Spruce Kings of the British Columbia Hockey League. During the 2018-19 season, Poisson put up 20 goals and 26 assists for 46 points in 53 games. The forward hails from Vancouver, British Columbia.
