
Iliano and Tremblay Named Phil Steele Preseason All-Americans

10 Black Bears Named to Phil Steele Preseason All-Conference Team
Orono, Maine -- It was announced on Monday that both Anthony Iliano and Samuel Tremblay of the University of Maine football program were named Phil Steele Preseason All-Americans. Iliano was named to the Third-Team for the second time this preseason (first by FCS Stats Perform) while Tremblay was named to the Fourth-Team for the first time in his career.
Iliano, a redshirt junior out of Cleveland, Ohio, enters his fourth season at Maine in 2026, having started in every game over the past two seasons. In 2025, he earned a spot on the CAA All-Conference Second Team as he led an offensive line that allowed only 18 sacks on the season (1.5 per game). The team went on a season-best three-game streak where they didn't allow a sack from Oct. 11 through Nov. 1. He also earned a spot on the CAA Academic Honor Roll.
Tremblay, a Redshirt Sophomore out of Quebec City, Quebec, was one of the best kickers in the country last season as he was 9-for-10 on field goal tries and he was 35-for-36 on PAT's during the season. He connected on a season-long 45-yard attempt at Merrimack and hit a a career-best five PAT's against Elon. He was named a finalist in 2025 for the Fred Mitchell Award.
Along with the announcement of the All-America Teams by Phil Steele, 10 Black Bears were named to the Preseason All-Conference Team by the committee.
